The Mid-Town Direct Express train service (MD) operates on several branches of the NJ Transit Rail system. MD provides excellent service to Midtown Manhattan on rail lines that previously serviced only the downtown Manhattan area via Hoboken. Commuters living in towns along these rail lines now have the flexibility of going to either terminus or transferring at the Secaucus Junction station to one of the other rail lines.
For instance the Northeast Corridor line provides rail access to Newark Liberty Airport.
